Sharing perspectives to help drive innovation across ocean-related industries
This week, Zach Lamothe, Investment Director within the SWEN Blue Ocean team spoke at the Blue Brick Event, organized by Adrien Vincent and RespectOcean.
The event brought together several French family-owned businesses operating across the seafood value chain, including fishing, seafood cold-chain logistics, processing, and ready-to-eat seafood products.
The discussion provided an opportunity to present SWEN Blue Ocean’s mission and to explore some of the innovations shaping the future of the blue economy. Among the companies highlighted:
- MiAlgae, which transforms by-products into sustainable aquaculture ingredients;
- Optoscale, whose monitoring solutions help improve aquaculture performance and sustainability;
- Tidal Vision, which develops marine-based biomaterials from natural resources.
These examples illustrate how innovation can help address some of the key environmental and economic challenges facing ocean-related industries today.
