Agora Makers: A European Company Specializing in Public Lighting and Urban Furniture

Agora Makers is a European leader in public lighting and urban furniture, playing a key role in transforming cities toward a model of local and sustainable urbanism. Founded in 1837, the Group initially built its business around public lighting before expanding internationally into urban furniture and other segments (smart lighting, urban sports, etc.) through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions.

A Recognized Player in Public Lighting and Urban Furniture

Agora Makers is composed of three iconic, high-profile brands with a premium positioning, along with three additional brands that support and complement the depth of its offering. This positioning makes the Group the only player in Europe to offer such a wide range of products in both segments.
The Group covers the entire value chain, with an in-house design office, advanced manufacturing operations through its production sites in France and abroad, and a strong commercial service.

A Significant Addressable Market with Strong Drivers

Agora Makers targets the public lighting market in France, which is expected to grow by approximately 4 to 5% annually through 2029, and the urban furniture market in France and Italy, with expected annual growth of 4% and 2% respectively through 2029.
The underlying public lighting market is resilient, driven by the continuous renewal of lighting infrastructure and the transition to LED technology, with high entry barriers and increasing adoption of smart lighting. The urban furniture market is supported by urbanization and positive trends related to sustainable cities.
Agora Makers holds a leading position in the fragmented French public lighting segment with around 30% market share, largely thanks to the reputation of its brands, its specification team, and product customization. The Group also enjoys a top-tier position in the Italian urban furniture market, with a market share between 20 and 25%, supported by its financial and production capabilities, enabling it to respond to tenders and carry out large-scale projects. This new transaction is part of the Group’s ongoing international development strategy.
