In November 2025, the ocean energy community gathered in Brussels for Ocean Energy Europe 2025, a two-day event connecting developers, investors, policymakers, and innovators across Europe. The conference explored the latest technologies and strategies to scale marine renewable energy.
SWEN Blue Ocean was glad to participate in the panel “Building the business case – how to attract investors?”, where our Prisca Jauffrineau shared insights from her experience evaluating and supporting investment in ocean energy projects. The discussion focused on what makes projects attractive to investors, key milestones that matter for funding, and how public support and risk management can help projects move from prototype to deployment.
Our takeaways from the panel are clear: attracting investment in ocean energy requires not only strong technology but also practical financial planning, transparent risk management, and a realistic approach to scaling projects.
